MENZEL machines for geotextile coating offers the highest flexibility to meet market requirements.

Water-permeable geotextiles are used for applications in road construction, road rehabilitation, landfill construction and slope stabilization. The use of geogrids under the asphalt pavement stabilizes the overall structure and absorbs forces from the surface layer. This base course reinforcement can both reduce construction time and save base course material such as crushed stone.

During production, geogrids made of polyester, glass or basalt are coated. Due to the areas of application, it is necessary that large material widths can be achieved here.

Menzel develops and builds coating systems according to customer requirements up to grid widths of 6,400 mm, these can be used both offline and online.

In the basic equipment our plants for coating geotextiles and geogrids consist of an application system, infrared dryer and a winder. The coating material (PVC, acrylate or bitumen) is precisely applied by means of a plough system. The stainless steel rollers and the stainless steel trough are easy to clean and facilitate the replacement of the coating material.

The heating power of the dryer can be 160-400 kW depending on the application. The temperature is automatically controlled up to 250 °C and the guidance of the material is tension-controlled.
